Industrial Energy Efficiency (IEE) - Working Group Update

The Industrial Energy Efficiency (IEE) working group was the first working group formed by M-WERC in 2015. This group is the outcome of the 2014 Building Energy Efficiency strategic roadmap. With more than 30 members from various academic and industries entities in Southeastern Wisconsin, the IEE working group’s next steps are built around its action plans for the upcoming year of 2018.

The DE/ES was formed in early 2016 an has grown steadily under the leadership of co-chairs Paul Poblocki from Johnson Controls and Adel Nasiri from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

The Energy-Water Nexus (EWN) working group was formed earlier this year as an offshoot of the EWN Strategic Roadmap completed and released in February 2017. That fourth Strategic Roadmap from M-WERC explored cross-cutting technology opportunities for manufacturers in the energy and water spaces.

WERCBench Labs - Demo Day Update

The WERCBench Labs early-stage start-up program, now in its third year, is wrapping up the  12-week program after an intensive three months of learning and exploration featuring expert guest speakers, weekly support from mentors and coaches, dynamic and interactive sessions and professional presentations. In addition to using the workspace at M-WERC, the start-up businesses in this third year of WERCBench Labs have also had access to the new Lab and Prototyping space on the second floor of the Energy Innovation Center.
